Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU
Location: Rochester, New York (14626)
Duration: 8 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift – 4x10 (10:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation

Travel Candidates: From $2,350 weekly

Local Candidates: $2,000 weekly ($50/hour)
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides comprehensive care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. This role includes both Phase I and Phase II recovery and requires close monitoring, timely interventions, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide care for patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery
-
Monitor patients for post-anesthesia complications and respond appropriately
-
Administer medications and manage pain effectively
-
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient transitions

Maintain adherence to evidence-based practice standards

Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records
Required Education
-
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Certifications & Licensure
-
Basic Life Support (BLS)
-
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
-
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Required Skills & Experience
-
Minimum 1 year of PACU experience
-
Experience in both Phase I and Phase II recovery
-
Experience with surgical specialties including:
-
Endoscopy/Laparoscopic
-
General Surgery
-
Orthopedics (including Spine and Total Joints)
-
-
Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV insertion
-
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Additional Requirements

First-time travelers accepted

Local candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

On-call requirement: 4 shifts per month (2 weekend and 2 weekday call shifts)
