Overview:
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Washington, DC seeking a Corporate Accountant to join their team. This fully onsite position supports core corporate accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Responsibilities

Assist with month-end and year-end close, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and alignment with GAAP.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, dashboards, and internal reports for management.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities through data gathering, variance explanations, and trend analysis.

Assist with cash management activities, including monitoring cash flows and preparing banking reconciliations.

Conduct balance sheet and P&L analysis, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.

Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data and support corporate-wide initiatives.

Assist with external audits by providing schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries.

Provide support to both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as needed.

Maintain accurate financial documentation and support ongoing process improvements within the accounting function.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
