A 238-bed acute care hospital serving its community for over 40 years is seeking an experienced Cardiac Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse. The facility delivers comprehensive, accredited care and is recognized for a wide range of advanced services, including:

• Advanced cardiac assessment and treatment

• Advanced Primary Stroke Certification

• The only pediatric emergency department in the community

• The only Level III NICU and Pediatric ICU in the region

Position Summary

The Cardiac Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients in alignment with departmental standards and nursing best practices. Working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, the RN delivers compassionate care using the Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage nursing model.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, proactive patient advocacy, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient experiences and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition upon admission and throughout each shift; promptly identify and report changes

• Perform nursing procedures, monitoring, and interventions as ordered by providers

• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic and adverse responses

• Accurately and timely document patient care in the electronic medical record

• Respond promptly to patient needs and anticipate potential concerns

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care

• Communicate complex medical information in a clear, understandable manner

QualificationsRequired

• Acute care RN experience required

  • Experience must be within the last 3 years

  • (If the candidate has extensive RN experience, acute care experience within the last 5 years may be considered)

• Active Florida RN license or approved multistate compact license

  • (Florida RN license required within 60 days of relocation if compact license held)

• Associate Degree in Nursing required

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
