We're hiring a Coffee & Beverage Specialist in our DC office!
The Coffee & Beverage Specialist is responsible for leading CYM’s coffee and beverage program through quality assurance, training, and the development of innovative, crave-worthy drinks. This role is CYM’s beverage creative lead – bringing new fun, playful coffee, tea, and specialty drinks to life while ensuring they can be executed vibrantly, consistently, and at scale across all shops.
This position requires deep passion for coffee, obsessive attention to detail, and a mindset rooted in continuous improvement. You’ll elevate the beverage experience for our guests while testing, refining, and launching new drinks, all while ensuring our existing menu is produced to the highest standard every single day across 20+ locations (and even more to come!).

Your core responsibilities will be:
- Lead CYM’s coffee and beverage menu development and innovation, including espresso, drip, cold brew, tea, seasonal drinks, and non-coffee beverages; collaborate with CYM leadership on beverage direction that fits our operations, guests, and VIBES
- Oversee ongoing recipe execution and success for existing and new beverage items, ensuring vision is executed daily through testing, training, QA, and continuous improvement
- Own the execution of the seasonal and special beverage menu rollout process, including:
- Managing new beverage rollouts from kickoff to completion using CYM’s New Menu Rollout Checklist
- Collaborating with the Supply Chain Manager to source coffee, syrups, milks, alternative beverages, and packaging that scale with quality and value
- Partnering with Finance and Supply Chain to meet or exceed beverage cost targets
- Collaborating with Training to create beverage recipes, brew guides, espresso standards, and allergy guidelines
- Working with Marketing on beverage photo shoots to ensure drinks are represented beautifully and accurately to shop execution
- Coordinating shop training for all new beverage launches
- Training Trainers on new beverage standards and rollouts
- Continuously evaluate and refine beverage production methodologies to improve efficiency, consistency, speed, and quality in shops; create supporting tools and resources
- Audit beverage QA standards and share findings with Directors of Operations to celebrate wins or address gaps
- Partner with Shop Operations to respond quickly and thoughtfully to any beverage quality or safety concerns
- Regularly evaluate coffee and beverage sourcing for quality, sustainability, and value, collaborating with Supply Chain when changes are needed
- Work with Facilities and Operations Leadership to assess coffee equipment performance, maintenance needs, safety standards, and training opportunities
- Be a voice of calm and confidence in high-pressure moments, modeling strong leadership and problem-solving
- Share ideas, opinions, and recommendations to continually improve the beverage program, barista experience, and shop resources
You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you:
- Experience in a similar role, responsible for coffee menu development and rollout across multiple locations
- Creativity and curiosity to develop new and exciting coffee and beverage offerings
- Deep passion for coffee, espresso, and beverage craft (you care about extraction, balance, and consistency)
- Hands-on coaching and training experience focused on quality assurance
- Strong time management skills and the ability to deliver high-quality results on schedule
- Flexibility – hours may include weekends, holidays, and early mornings
