Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Summerville, South Carolina
Duration: 43 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift, 5x8 Hours

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction, implementing IEP goals, and fostering a positive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement instructional strategies tailored to students with diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, therapists, and families to support student success.
• Create and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records and documentation.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Provide classroom management and behavioral support using evidence-based practices.
• Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Requirements

• Active South Carolina Special Education endorsement/certification or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and maintain required documentation.
