Job Description
This role operates stamping machines to produce precision metal parts in a clean, well-lit manufacturing environment. You will set up and run production equipment, inspect parts using precision measuring tools, and follow detailed work orders and blueprints to ensure consistent quality and output on either a day or night shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Operate stamping machines and related equipment to produce metal parts according to work orders and production schedules.
- Set up machines, including tooling, dies, and fixtures, to meet specific job requirements and perform changeovers as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and prints to understand part specifications, tolerances, and production requirements.
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools to inspect parts and verify dimensions.
- Monitor machines during operation and attend the press at all times while it is running to ensure safe and efficient performance.
- Perform routine inspections of parts and equipment to detect defects, miss-hits, or other quality issues and take appropriate action.
- Troubleshoot machine issues or malfunctions and make basic mechanical adjustments to maintain production and quality standards.
- Communicate with the Production Supervisor via intranet, email, telephone, or in-person conversations regarding production status, issues, and needs.
- Report miss-hits, equipment problems, and any production concerns promptly to the Production Supervisor.
- Accurately record labor times and part counts to the appropriate work orders to ensure proper tracking and reporting.
- Operate additional equipment such as punch presses, press brakes, lathes, and other production machinery as needed.
- Perform machine setups and changeovers to support different jobs and customer requirements.

Work Environment
This role is based in a modern manufacturing facility that has been at its current location for several years and is described as very clean and well lit. The environment focuses on metal forming and stamping for automotive applications, including window and door components, steering column parts, and safety-critical seat parts. You will work with stamping presses, press brakes, punch presses, lathes, and other production machinery, as well as precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures. Typical shifts include a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and an evening shift from 4:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with two paid 15-minute breaks provided. The facility operates under structured systems and a formal quality management framework, balancing robust processes with a close-knit, family-oriented culture. Uniforms are provided, and the workplace includes an on-site café and outdoor areas for breaks and company events.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
