The DuPont Clinic is a referral center for all-trimester abortion and ultrasound-guided procedures, including for abnormal or high risk pregnancies, and for people with complex medical situations who may have difficulty accessing care. We provide the highest level of medical care and a private experience focused on the individual needs of each patient. The Patient Navigator will work directly with the Clinical Services, Care Coordination, and Medical teams to resolve barriers to abortion care access.


Essential Duties:

  • Be the primary liaison between the Clinical Services, Care Coordination, and Medical departments.
  • Ensure funding and practical support needs (lodging, travel, childcare, meal stipends, etc.) are met once patients have arrived for their appointment.
  • Conduct appointment confirmation calls every week, together with other members of the Care Coordination team.
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings with representatives from Care Coordination, Clinical Services and the Medical departments.
  • Communicate any known or anticipated funding and practical support patient needs to all departments in a timely manner.
  • Provide referrals to housing, domestic violence, mental health or substance use programs as needed.
  • Create a robust referral toolkit to use internally.
  • Offer all-options counseling in clinic for patients who may need decision-making support.
  • Support the Care Coordination team with referrals to external funding and practical support organizations as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside social service organizations.
  • Support patients with any post-abortion care resources or referrals.
  • Actively demonstrate, promote, and support a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Other duties as needed.


Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • Past experience working in reproductive health care.
  • Commitment to all-trimester, gender-affirming abortion care; and bodily autonomy.
  • Highly detail-oriented, able to work on multiple tasks in an organized fashion
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with team members and external organizations
  • Commitment to providing accurate information in a compassionate manner to all people, regardless of their circumstance (substance use, mental health, current or past traumatic experiences, interpersonal violence, etc.)

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in counseling, social work, and/or mental health/substance abuse programs.
  • Case management experience
  • Bilingual fluency (Spanish is preferred)

  • The typical work schedule will be Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM.
  • This is an in-person role, with remote work on non-clinical days (typically Fridays).
  • Considerable amount of time spent at a desk on the phone and using a computer.
  • Typical office environment

  • This position requires the ability to work under stress and handle multiple project deadlines.
  • The position may require moderate lifting.

Benefits and pay range:

  • Salary: $29.30/hour
  • Benefits package includes: health insurance, a retirement plan (with a company contribution starting the first of the quarter after 6 months of employment), periodic bonuses, paid time off, and 11 paid holidays and more!
