Our mission is to connect users with the best things to do in their city, through curated expert recommendations, community insights, and personalized content. We pair short-form, informational, and commercial writing with personalized tools to make FOMO a thing of the past.

The Role
EverOut is seeking a Content Lead to help launch our next phase of growth. This is a full-time, exempt position. In this role, you will serve as editor to our team of staff writers, working closely with the EverOut Manager to develop and implement our content strategy and deliver the core work of EverOut. This position will also work closely with both the EverOut Manager and Head of Product to identify new products, features, and concepts, and build them into the platform. We’re looking for an innovative thinker, someone who’s willing to experiment and push new ideas, with the flexibility to pivot when things don’t (or do!) work out.
Requirements:
- Oversee content creation for EverOut
- Maintain EverOut’s web content and ensure that the site is updated regularly with relevant and exciting material.
- Manage writing assignments and deadlines
- Edit articles and upload to the site
- Ensure our content maintains EverOut’s tone and upholds our values
- Work with EverOut Manager to create & implement content strategy
- Manage distribution of content
- Target specific keywords for all articles, to drive SEO
- Coordinate with Social Media Manager to push our content over socials
- Coordinate with the newsletter team to publish and promote email newsletters
- Repurpose content to fit publishing or social media needs
- Develop new avenues of content and ad revenue
- Collaborate with the data and sales teams to find new opportunities for content, and to refresh existing content to meet current marketing needs
- Seek out community collaborations and opportunities to get EverOut’s name out to the public
- Stay on top of local trends and major events, to inform relevant content
Experience We Value
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong editing skills, as well as written and verbal communication.
- Data-driven, analytical mindset.
- Project management and teamwork ability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in content marketing tools and performance metrics.
- Familiarity with digital content platforms, SEO, and basic HTML
- Experience with social media and digital communication tools

Additional Information
This is a full-time, non-exempt, union position. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, though hours can vary with this role, including some evening and weekend work. Applicants should live in the Chicago metro area.
