Job Title: Structural Engineer – PE Licensed | Revit | Commercial & Institutional Projects
Location: York, PA (Remote flexibility with on-site visits)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a licensed Structural Engineer (PE) with 4–6+ years of experience designing commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects from schematic design through construction, coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors, and mentor junior staff. This role offers a mix of remote work and on-site field evaluations, providing autonomy and leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead structural design for building projects (foundations, framing, seismic/load considerations).
- Prepare construction documents, specifications (AIA MasterSpec), and technical reports.
- Conduct IBC code reviews and establish project design criteria.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors throughout project phases.
- Perform field surveys, site evaluations, and construction administration (RFIs, submittals, inspections).
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.
- Mentor and supervise project staff, promoting professional growth and team efficiency.
- Recommend and implement new technologies and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (PA licensure or ability to obtain).
- 4–6+ years of structural engineering experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
- Proficiency in Revit/BIM for structural modeling and construction documentation.
- Strong knowledge of IBC, building codes, and structural analysis.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project teams.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, technical writing, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with multi-discipline coordination (MEP, architecture).
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (RISA-3D, RAM, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, etc.).
- Experience with renovation, adaptive reuse, or equipment-heavy buildings.
