Provide specialized instruction to students with intensive educational needs through our prehensive virtual learning platform. We're seeking experienced Special Education Teachers who are passionate about supporting students with plex disabilities and mitted to maximizing independence and functional skills. This remote position offers the opportunity to make a profound impact while utilizing innovative adaptive technology.
Specialized Program Overview This virtual teaching role focuses on delivering intensive special education services to students with significant disabilities through our adaptive online learning platform. You'll utilize evidence-based practices and assistive technology to create meaningful learning experiences while working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Instructional Responsibilities
- Design and implement functional curriculum aligned with IEP goals and transition planning
- Provide direct instruction focusing on life skills, munication, and academic foundations
- Adapt teaching methods and materials for students with plex learning needs
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and functional behavior assessments
- Collaborate with related service providers including OT, PT, and speech therapy
- Facilitate virtual IEP meetings and maintain prehensive progress documentation
- Conduct ongoing assessment of functional skills and adaptive behavior
- Provide family support and training on implementing strategies at home
Program Details
- 37.5 hours per week including direct instruction and team collaboration
- Serve 25-35 students across elementary through transition age (21)
- Individual and small group instruction focusing on functional skills
- Support students with autism, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and traumatic brain injury
- Access to adaptive technology and specialized curriculum resources
- Flexible scheduling with intensive family and team collaboration time
Essential Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education with emphasis on severe/multiple disabilities
- Valid Michigan special education teaching license or eligibility to obtain
- Minimum 2 years of school-based experience with students with intensive needs
- Experience with functional curriculum and transition planning
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Strong behavior management and crisis intervention skills
- Excellent family engagement and team collaboration abilities
