Classification: Full-time, exempt
Summary: In this role, the HR Generalist is responsible for providing support for core HR functions to Erigo’s multiple client companies. This includes supporting the maintenance of the HRIS system, assisting with the administration of client-specific HR policies and procedures, and responding to employee questions and third-party inquiries. Responsibilities include coordinating and conducting new-hire orientations, providing guidance on employee benefits and compliance matters, preparing monthly HR reports, and documenting HR processes and procedures. The HR Generalist will regularly field questions from employees regarding policies, benefits, onboarding and employment matters, and will work closely with client contacts to provide high-quality HR support and ensure a consistent and responsive client experience.

General HR:
- Manage the new-hire process by coordinating pre-employment screenings, preparing and sending new hire offer letters and other documents, preparing orientation materials and sending timely orientation reminders. *
- Conduct new hire orientations by assisting employees with the onboarding process, reviewing the Employee Handbook, and providing an overview of benefit offerings. *
- Coordinate all medical leave of absence cases (FMLA & non-FMLA), including preparing required documentation, researching eligibility, tracking leave hours, working closely with the Client and employee to ensure that all relevant medical documentation is submitted for timely review, maintaining appropriate contact with employees out on leave, and coordinating the return-to-work process. *
- Administer ADA accommodation requests of employees by engaging in the interactive process with employees and clients, gathering and reviewing medical documentation, and coordinating reasonable accommodations in compliance with applicable laws.*
- Coordinate fitness-for-duty evaluations, ensuring timely communication with medical providers and adherence to company policy. *
- Manage and respond to employment verifications.
- Assist with the recruiting process by creating and posting job openings in applicant tracking system.
- Submit workplace injury reports to the workers’ compensation carrier and provide necessary follow-up information as requested. *
- Assist with the development of Employee Handbooks tailored to Client needs and compliance requirements. *
- Assist with the development of job descriptions for employees. *
- Assist with the analysis of Employee Satisfaction Surveys. *
- Assist and guide client managers and supervisors through the discipline process, offering best practice recommendations and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. *
- Assist clients with the employee termination process by preparing resignation acceptance letters, termination letters, and exit interviews. *
- Initiate, review and process unemployment claims by working closely with clients to gather all necessary information and documentation for claim submissions, including employee separation details, wage records and relevant policies. *
- Maintain and update internal procedures and business process documentation to ensure accuracy and efficiency. *
- Provide policy and procedure guidance to employees and managers of Clients in coordination with the HR team. *
- Assist in facilitating timely delivery of services and projects to the Client in all functional areas to include: 401K, benefits, employee relations, and compliance. *
- Collaborate and work effectively with all levels of staff, managing and prioritizing tasks to ensure accurate and timely completion of assignments and projects. *
- Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries related to HR matters. *
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with the employees and Clients.*
- Assist with the preparation of and distribution of key HR documents, such as Employee Handbook, Benefit Summary Guide, Client Manual. *
- Assist Clients with the production of HR reports, as requested. *
- Manage Client expectations by communicating project status, addressing issues, resolving concerns, and preparing detailed reports. *
- Complete special projects by establishing timelines, conducting research, organizing data, and delivering high quality outcomes. *
- Participate in the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems.*
- Maintain absolute confidentiality in handling sensitive information and all aspects of job responsibility. *
- Periodic onsite visits to client locations. Most clients within a 30-mile radius from the Erigo office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Benefits and Compliance:
- Field employee questions regarding benefit plans, coverage options and eligibility.*
- Facilitate timely benefit enrollments for new hires and during open enrollment periods.*
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with benefit vendors including brokers, third-party services, and insurance providers. *
- Assist in the preparation and filing of reports and notices as required by federal or state laws. *
- Process various benefit-related tasks including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes in coverage, and claims related to disability, accidents, and death. *
- Provide administrative support for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), including responding to employee questions and preparing related correspondence. *
- Coordinate the transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration. *
- Coordinate with broker and vendor partners to resolve issues related to benefit enrollment, claims and plan variances. *
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefit laws, while staying up to date on relevant legislative and regulatory changes. *
HRIS:
- Provide support to employees in resolving issues relating to HRIS. *
- Utilize HRIS to assist Clients in processing a high volume of employee changes, assuring all required documentation is in place and that HR records are accurate. *
- Collaborate and work closely with the HR team and payroll department to review and audit personnel data changes each pay period for accuracy and compliance. *

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Must have advanced written communication skills.
- Must have advanced attention to detail skills.
- Must have a high level of competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with basic office equipment such as computers and printers.
- Must be a self-starter, motivated, well-organized, and willing to learn new skills.
- Must adhere to confidentiality policy.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
