About the Role:
Were seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the design and execution of large-scale cleanroom and controlled environment projects (typically $30M$100M) in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. This is a client-facing leadership role, overseeing all technical, budgetary, and scheduling aspects from design through construction.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as primary liaison between internal teams, clients, and A/E firms.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of HVAC and mechanical systems from schematic design to construction documents.
- Lead cross-functional design coordination (MEP, structural, architectural).
- Specify and coordinate HVAC equipment (AHUs, chillers, boilers, etc.).
- Approve and review detailed MEP design drawings and calculations.
- Monitor scope, budget, and timelines while maintaining code compliance.
- Conduct value engineering to maximize performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Guide Revit/CAD workflows and supervise technical team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (Masters a plus)
- 8+ years in mechanical/HVAC/MEP engineering (life sciences or cleanrooms strongly preferred)
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar construction projects
- Skilled in HVAC design for temperature/humidity-controlled environments
- Knowledge of cleanroom systems, process piping, and fluid handling
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Familiar with ASHRAE, NFPA, and other relevant codes
- Excellent client communication and project management skills
- Background in construction, engineering consulting, or life sciences required
