Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support K-8 students within a year-round learning environment in Philadelphia, PA. This contract role involves providing specialized instruction and learning support tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate varied learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure effective interventions.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of academic and behavioral performance.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Attend meetings and participate in professional development as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with K-8 students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal special education laws and best practices.
- Ability to manage a caseload of up to 15 students effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility to support a year-round calendar.
