Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a difference in the lives of high school students in an Autism Support Classroom as a contract Special Education Teacher for a full-time, onsite position in a supportive educational environment. You’ll play an essential role in guiding students through tailored instruction while collaborating with staff to foster growth and achievement.
Qualifications:
- Current Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching License required
- Certification in special education or emergency certification accepted
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Commitment to supporting neurodiverse learners in an inclusive setting
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in an Autism Support Classroom
- Modify general education curriculum as needed to meet each student’s needs
- Create a positive, engaging, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists for student success
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Communicate effectively with families and caregivers regarding student achievements and challenges
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training opportunities
