Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This Contract position in Lakeville, MN, offers a unique opportunity to serve as a Specialized Instructional Coach supporting K-12 educators in special education. In this role, the focus is on ensuring compliance with special education laws and timelines, particularly regarding due process, to help schools maintain the highest standards for students with disabilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and support to teachers in special education, intervention strategies, and MTSS.
- Monitoring and managing legal steps, required paperwork, rights, and deadlines related to special education compliance.
- Collaborating within one school building to promote best practices in special education instruction and administration.
- Assisting in the interpretation and application of special education policies, ensuring alignment with district and state requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Tier 3 or Tier 4 teaching licenses in Special Education.
- Specialized certification/licensure in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Disorders) at Tier 3 or Tier 4 level.
- Deep understanding of special education laws, due process, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working in K-12 special education settings, ideally with coaching or mentoring responsibilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage caseload demands effectively.

- Weekly hours: 36.25
