Job DescriptionFull-Time Night Position for Registered Respiratory Therapist (36 hours)

The Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers essential respiratory care to patients in accordance with physician directives. This role involves collaborating with medical personnel to assess the effectiveness of therapies and acting as a knowledgeable resource for respiratory care matters. Candidates must have completed an accredited respiratory care program, possess state licensure, and hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential. Experience in critical care and certifications such as ACLS and PALS are preferred for those working in emergency environments.

This position entails providing direct patient care across all facets of respiratory therapy, following physician instructions. The therapist will also consult with doctors regarding therapy outcomes and serve as an advanced resource for both physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care topics. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed.

Position Details:

  • Qualifications
    • Education: Graduate of a CoArc accredited Respiratory Care program.
    • Licensure: Must meet state licensure standards and hold a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
    • Experience: No prior experience required.
    • Certifications: Must possess the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). PALS certification is required for those working in the Emergency Room.
    • Physical Demands: Responsibilities include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 10 lbs, and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
    • Equipment Used: All relevant respiratory care devices.
    • Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
    • Preferred Experience: Critical care experience is advantageous.
