Position Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations to ensure efficiency,
safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role will lead multiple production teams, drive process improvements, and
ensure delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations and company objectives. The Senior
Production Manager acts as a key liaison between production, maintenance, supply chain, and quality assurance
departments.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
• Lead daily production activities to ensure on-time delivery and optimal utilization of resources.
• Develop and implement production schedules that align with sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
• Analyze production metrics (throughput, yield, downtime, etc.) and implement corrective actions to improve
efficiency.
• Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed and updated as necessary.
Team Management
• Supervise and mentor production supervisors and line leads; provide coaching and development opportunities
across 3 shifts.
• Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement among production staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and manage workforce planning including recruitment and
training.
Quality & Safety
• Maintain compliance with all company, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, etc.).
• Partner with Quality to ensure production output meets specifications and quality targets.
• Investigate and resolve production or quality issues, ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective actions are
implemented.
Process & Continuous Improvement
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, OEE, 5S, and other process improvement programs.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Identify automation and technology opportunities to improve throughput and reduce waste.
Budget & Reporting
• Manage production budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses.
• Review and help forecast COGS targets.
• Participate in strategic planning and contribute to capital investment decisions.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
Experience:
• Minimum of 8–10 years in manufacturing or production management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale operations or multi-line production environments.
• Experience in lean manufacturing, OEE, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Skills:
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing KPIs and performance metrics.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
