Job DescriptionSalary: $25.00-$27.00/hour DOE

The Peters Township Public Library is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Program & Outreach Coordinator. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping creative, educational, and engaging library programs for adults of all ages.


This position will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of library programs for adult audiences, both virtual and in-person
  • Develop partnerships and outreach opportunities with external organizations and groups
  • Represent the library at community events
  • Collaborate closely with the Adult Services team to develop initiatives that support the librarys mission and strategic plan
  • Work collaboratively with other library and Township departments
  • Serve as committee chair for Read Local Eat Local, the librarys annual local author event
  • Create and monitor the adult summer reading challenge through the Beanstack platform
  • Keep accurate program statistics for reporting use
  • Gather community feedback and analyze data to improve services and set goals
  • Supervise Adult Services volunteers
  • Provide reference desk coverage as needed


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Candidates with Masters Degree in Library Science strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working with the public
  • Past experience of creating, planning, and implementing public programs is required
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team, willingness to assist and support coworkers, contribute ideas, and maintain flexibility
  • Thorough knowledge of current and emerging library trends is preferred
  • PA State Police criminal history check, PA Child Abuse clearances, FBI fingerprints


Compensation and Scheduling:

  • Full time: 37.5 hours per week
  • Starting pay range: $25 to $27 per hour

  • Flexible scheduling - mostly daytime hours, evenings and weekends as needed for programs
