Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Mill Laborer to join our team. The Mill Laborer will support daily mill operations and assist machine operator. This role is hands-on, physical and requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup and operation of mill equipment
- Load and unload raw materials on production line
- Assist with all material handling, including sorting and stacking of raw materials and finished products
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machines, tools, and work area
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working a lumber yard or mill is preferred. Other manufacturing or industrial settings will be considered for the right candidate
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Must be a dependable team player with a proactive work ethic
- Forklift experience and/or certification a plus
