- The Ambulatory Registered Dietitian (RD) acts as a key member of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that quality and therapeutic nutritional services are provided to medical weight loss and bariatric surgery patients.
- The RD assists in the planning, organization and development of the overall operations of the Medical Weight Loss & Bariatric Nutrition department in cooperation with the Bariatric Providers.
- The RD will have the support of a full-time Medical Assistant designated for the Dietitian.
- The RD must hold a Registered Dietitian credential and a Licensed Nutritionist/Dietitian in Delaware and Maryland.
- The Ambulatory Registered Dietitian will work in a busy, high-volume outpatient clinic environment providing 1:1 consultation.
- The schedule is 4, 10-hour shifts to be scheduled within the work week, Monday - Friday, day shift, no nights, holidays or weekends.

Job Duties:
- Providing nutrition guidance and counseling to metabolic and bariatric surgery patients pre and post-operative through development, implementation and monitoring of dietary recommendations pertaining to weight loss surgery
- Analyze data, assess nutrition status and formulate nutrition care plans
- Co-administrator on specific online applications/ software used to support Bariatric patients
- Assist in center development, patient education, and staff education (as needed) on the aspects of diet and nutrition related to metabolic and bariatric surgeries.
- Maintain Nutrition guide (following most current guidelines)
- Act as liaison between the weight loss center, the bariatric coordinator, and the surgeons performing metabolic and bariatric surgery at both centers.
- Work closely with the bariatric coordinator to ensure timely submission and accurate information regarding diet and nutrition for the pre- and post-surgical patient.
- Coordinates with Metabolic and Bariatric System, MBS, Coordinator in all aspects of dietary services for the metabolic and bariatric patient
- Lead support groups (currently: System Bariatric Support group/ “Boot Camp”) and track attendance for pre- and post-surgical patients.
- Participates in metabolic and bariatric surgery team rounds/meetings and assigned committees
- Collaborates with physicians, nurses and other allied health staff to provide patient care.
- Participates in QI activities required to meet MBSAQIP Accreditation
- Other duties as deemed necessary for program growth

Experience
- One year experience in clinical nutrition preferred
Education & Licensure
- Degree in Nutrition or related field preferred
- Delaware & Maryland Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist is required.
- Registered Dietitian credential required
