We are looking for a dependable Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a contract assignment in Columbia, Maryland.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily financial activity by monitoring cash movement and maintaining organized records of receipts and transactions.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, follow up on outstanding balances, and manage incoming and outgoing payments accurately.
• Handle accounts payable tasks, including reviewing invoices, coding expenses, and coordinating timely payment processing.
• Maintain accounts receivable records and help ensure collections and account updates are completed promptly.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Process employee timekeeping information and support payroll-related record administration.
• Track travel and business expenses while ensuring documentation is complete and properly recorded.
• Compile spreadsheet-based reporting and provide updates on financial performance, goals, and operational metrics.
• Collaborate with external accounting partners and internal leadership to support ongoing financial management needs.
• Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping or accounting support within a small business or similar environment.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Hands-on experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice coding.
• Ability to perform bank and credit card reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Familiarity with payroll or employee time-tracking administration.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple accounting priorities independently.
• Availability to work onsite Monday through Friday for a 40-hour work week.
