Schedule/Hours:
- Travel assignment with flexibility to accommodate shifts typical of PACU care
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program
- Current Pennsylvania RN license (required)
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, maintained per guidelines
- Previous PACU and Critical Care experience is strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrates resilience, professionalism, and effective judgment in dynamic, fast-paced settings
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ conditions post-anesthesia and prioritize care using ASPAN guidelines
- Develop, implement, and continually adjust care plans focused on optimal patient outcomes from pediatric through geriatric populations
- Initiate nursing interventions ensuring airway patency, oxygenation, pain management, and postoperative comfort
- Coordinate communication between patients, family members, surgical teams, and other healthcare providers
- Ensure all emergency equipment and supplies are available and functioning
- Evaluate patient readiness for PACU discharge and coordinate smooth transitions to care units
- Maintain current knowledge in PACU best practices, biomedical advances, and ethical considerations related to postoperative care
