POSITION OVERVIEW

Aircraft Systems Technicians support the installation, inspection, testing, and integration of aircraft electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and avionics systems. Technicians work from technical drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation to ensure systems are installed to aerospace quality standards.

Relevant Military Backgrounds / AQDs Encouraged, but not limited to:

Strong alignment with aviation systems-focused military experience:

  • Aircraft Electrical Systems / Wiring / Power Distribution
  • Avionics installation, troubleshooting, and systems integration
  • Aircraft hydraulics, fuel, oxygen, and environmental systems
  • Aircraft propulsion support systems (non-overhaul focused)
  • Flightline maintenance and operational troubleshooting
  • Aircraft electrical/environmental systems QA or troubleshooting roles
  • Aviation safety equipment and system checkout functions

Examples of closely aligned military specialties:

  • Navy Aviation Electrician’s Mate (AE)
  • Navy Aviation Electronics Technician (AT)
  • Navy Aviation Machinist’s Mate (AD) (systems & engine support exposure)
  • Aircrewman (AWO, AWF, AWR, AWS) (systems operations exposure)
  • Air Force 2A5X1 / 2A6X series aircraft maintenance AFSCs
  • Marine Corps aviation maintenance MOS (electrical/avionics focused)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Aircraft Systems Technician positions involve the execution of various electrical systems install, fluid systems install and general aircraft systems tasks. Aircraft Systems Technicians at all levels are required to follow directions carefully, have basic mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.

The following essential job functions are performed as an Aircraft Systems Technician:

  • Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, work instructions and other technical and non-technical documents
  • Receives and carries out directions from designated supervisors
  • Participates in training, safety, and quality programs
  • Keeps work orders stamped, dated and organized
  • Electrical Harness routing & inspection, repairs & modifications, electrical soldering & inspection, electrical bonding & inspection, ground network installation
  • Aerospace style electrical connection installation and testing support, anti-chafing wrap installation
  • Electrical Equipment installation and Electrical System continuity testing
  • Hardline tube routing and fit-up and titanium, aluminum, and SS tube swaging
  • Threaded fitting install, torquing, and sealing
  • Oxygen tube installation and ECS ducting installation
  • Leak checking and pressure test support
  • Follows Janicki Industries Rules and Safety Practices and keep work areas clean and organized
  • Follows 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap standards and practices throughout all work performed
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition
  • Has knowledge of and ability to use common hand tools for assembly components per verbal, written, and drawing requirements
  • Sets up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned

THIS ROLE ALLOWS TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS TO

This role allows transitioning service members to:

  • Translate military aviation maintenance experience into the civilian aerospace industry
  • Gain exposure to advanced aerospace manufacturing and integration operations
  • Work on high-visibility aerospace and defense programs
  • Build experience supporting FAA- and AS9100-regulated environments
  • Develop civilian-recognized technical and quality skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • SkillBridge eligibility is defined as a program for active-duty service members within 180 days of being discharged or released from active duty.
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • Previous aircraft systems experience highly encouraged
  • Must have the ability to read, understand and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
