Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiology Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide expert diagnostic imaging services as a Radiology Technologist utilizing advanced radiographic techniques and equipment in a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract position is based in Canfield, OH, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in surgical, NICU, and general radiology settings.
Position Details:
- Location: Canfield, OH
- Schedule: Prefer 8 or 10-hour shifts; will consider 12-hour shifts for the right candidate
- Shifts: Weekdays and weekends, afternoons 12:30 PM11:00 PM or 10:00 AM8:30 PM
- Every other weekend scheduled, plus one holiday as needed
- Surgery and NICU support as required
- Utilize GE radiology equipment with emphasis on surgical proficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain clinical histories and relevant lab results for patient imaging
- Position and immobilize patients professionally ensuring comfort and safety
- Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure
- Perform routine and specialized radiographic procedures including fluoroscopy
- Verify informed consent and handle associated documentation
- Assist licensed practitioners with aseptic surgical techniques during imaging
- Administer medications/contrast as prescribed, when necessary
- Ensure quality control by evaluating image technical quality and documenting patient radiation doses
- Maintain professional communication with healthcare team members and patients
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification and Registration with ARRT required; Associates degree from ARRT-accredited program preferred
- BLS certification required prior to direct patient care
- At least one year of experience in radiation safety and patient care preferred
- Proficient in operating Radiology Information Systems and PACS preferred
- Surgery experience and proficiency required
- Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Records advantageous
Physical & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical activities including standing and walking for extended periods
- Exposure to potential hazards such as infectious materials and radiographic radiation managed through strict safety protocols
- Patient populations include neonates through geriatrics, requiring adaptable patient care approaches
