Currently, we are engaged in a contract to support the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), specifically in maintenance, configuration, and supply support. As part of this vital mission, we are seeking a qualified Logistician to join our team and contribute to the success of the Coast Guard’s Surface Acquisition Logistics Center (SALC).

Position Summary

The Logistician will perform integration, business processes, and a combination of technical and administrative tasks that are essential to the smooth development and deployment of supply chain operations for the OPC support project. The successful candidate will ensure that supply systems are efficient and meet the Coast Guard's rigorous standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Manual Review: Analyze and review technical manuals and specifications as they pertain to Supply Support Requests (SSR), Item Entry Proposals (IEP), and Allowance Parts Lists (APL) development. This is to ensure new items are brought into the Coast Guard (CG) supply system in accordance with relevant guidance documents.
  • System Knowledge: Demonstrate working knowledge of systems including the Naval & Electronics Supply Support System (NESSS), Web-based Federal Logistic Information System (WebFLIS), Naval Systems Engineering Resource Center (NSERC), and Fleet Logistics System (FLS).
  • Item Management: Responsible for creating Item Entry Proposals (IEPs) and maintaining detailed case files. Establish and preserve maintenance parts information in NESSS.
  • Data Management: Review, organize, and maintain technical data pertinent to parts and equipment, ensuring characteristics and source of supply documentation is up to date.
  • Discrepancy Oversight: Manage and track Supply Discrepancy Reports, ensuring investigations are conducted, and regular status updates are communicated to stakeholders.
  • Contractual Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), focusing primarily on Parts Technical Data (PTD) and Engineering Data for Provisioning (EDFP).

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is necessary for data management and reporting.
  • Ability to integrate technical data with logistical processes to enhance efficiency and supply chain integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with U.S. Coast Guard organization, policies, and procedures.
  • Equipment Specialist Certification is preferred, though not mandatory.
