Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Support AF enterprise-wide core mission capabilities in strategic outreach and communications, inclusive of but not limited to research, data/information gathering, analyses and synthesis of gathered research/materials to enable and assist with delivery of effective strategic messaging for communication to senior leaders and the workforce across the AF enterprise, DoD, Industry and within the Federal SB program as appropriate.
  • Provide strategic outreach/event planning support and manage the scheduling of meetings, conferences, and outreach events.
  • Coordinate required elements for meetings and events including but not limited to obtaining event approval and approval of talking points; coordinating agendas; coordinating meeting logistics including locations, directions and facilities; and managing needed materials. Assist with compiling/packaging of SAF/SB handouts for each event.
  • Perform additional duties that are within scope of the tasks outlined above and below and as authorized and assigned by the COR.
  • Manage the organization's event planning schedule using the organization's established office procedures and maintain SAF/SB's calendar of events.
  • Research events and input event information into the Senior Engagement Tracking System.
  • SAF/SB Annual Program Plan
  • Develop, publish, and maintain the organization's Annual Program Plan and ensure it aligns to the National Defense Strategy and AF Strategic Priorities.
  • Review and update the Program Plan annually by collecting and incorporating updates from the organization's team members.
  • Research, review, and assess viability of internal and external published Strategic Master Plans (SMP) using electronic mediums to locate, interviews with HAF Staff agency SMEs and the World Wide Web
  • Collect and maintain the MAJCOM Annual Program Plan and ensure they align to the National Defense Strategy, AF Strategic Priorities.
  • Obtain Director/Deputy Director review, intent, and support of draft MAJCOM Program Plans.
  • Research, analyze, and populate content into the draft Annual Program Plan through collaboration with the organization's team members to define content and processes.
  • Strategic Communication Plan (SCP) and Industry Engagement Plan (IEP)
  • Review and update the SCP and the IEP annually through collection and incorporation of updates from the organization's team members.
  • Research, assess, and monitor internal/external processes that impact the SCP and the IEP.
  • Assess internal and external information and processes that impact the published SCP/IEP.
  • Update the SCP/IEP at least annually or as needed.
  • Coordinate revisions with the SMEs or process owners through collaboration with the organization's team members or external agency POC(s).
  • Obtain Director/Deputy Director review and intent.
  • Research and populate content into the existing SCP document through collaboration with the organization's team members.
  • Publish and distribute the final SCP and ensure the SCP is representative of the organization's objectives and goals.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Master's Degree
  • Engage in promoting or creating an intended public image for individuals, groups, or organizations. May write or select material for release to various communications media.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in working with DoD acquisitions and headquarters staff level work or equivalent. All five (5) years of experience must have occurred within the last 10 years.
