Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with this contract opportunity supporting learners in a school setting near Littleton, CO. This full-time position focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to K-12 students. You'll work closely with teachers and support staff to help each student achieve their goals, address unique needs, and facilitate an inclusive classroom environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, classroom assistant, or in a similar educational support role
- Skilled in providing 1:1 assistance to students with various abilities
- Familiarity with K-12 educational settings and age-appropriate support strategies
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students and staff
- Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate as part of a team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to complete any background checks or clearances required for school-based positions
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer attentive 1:1 support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day
- Assist with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional tasks
- Help implement instruction and activities as directed by classroom teachers or specialists
- Monitor progress, encourage participation, and foster independence in students
- Support students in transitioning between classrooms and navigating the school environment
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the ethical standards of the school community
