Job Description:

As a Tool & Die Technician, you will ensure that tools are ready for production and work on progressive dies. You will repair and improve stamping dies, fixtures, and weld cells, using both manual tools and automatic surface grinders. Your role includes measuring and making shims, welding and repairing worn die details, and using an overhead crane for die movements. Troubleshooting quality issues and verifying work in spotting presses are part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate with other Journeyman Tool & Die makers and maintain an orderly workspace.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure tools are prepared for production.
  • Work on progressive and transfer dies.
  • Make repairs and improvements on stamping dies, fixtures, and weld cells.
  • Utilize manual and automatic surface grinders for required tasks.
  • Measure and fabricate shims to maintain die timing.
  • Weld and repair worn or broken die details.
  • Operate an overhead crane for moving and flipping dies.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and adjust dies to improve part condition.
  • Perform predictive preventive maintenance on dies.
  • Read technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate part quality.

Work Environment

Work in a brand-new, bright, clean, temperature-controlled, and quiet facility featuring advanced robotics and automation. Uniforms are provided; however, you must have your own steel-toe boots and safety glasses. The team consists of five maintenance techs per shift and one maintenance team lead. The first shift operates from 7 AM to 3:45 PM, and the second shift begins in January 2026, running from 7 PM to 3:45 AM. Overtime is limited but may increase with production demands.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkinsville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.90 - $27.90/hr.
