Position: Invoice Processing Clerk
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Reports to: Accounts Payable Supervisor / Accounting Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Invoice Processing Clerk to join our accounting team. This role focuses on accurate and timely processing of large volumes of invoices while supporting the overall accounts payable workflow. The ideal candidate enjoys structure, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to accuracy. This position offers a hybrid work model with both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and process high-volume vendor invoices into the accounting system.
  • Ensure invoices are coded accurately and approved according to company policies.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders, packing slips, or contracts when applicable.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, terms, or quantities.
  • Maintain electronic and physical invoice files for audit compliance.
  • Manage the A/P shared inbox, routing invoices and questions as needed.
  • Prepare invoice batches for weekly payment cycles.
  • Assist with vendor inquiries and provide timely follow-up.
  • Support month-end activities, including account reconciliations and aging reviews.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements aimed at efficiency and data accuracy.

Qualifications / Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in invoice processing, accounts payable, or administrative accounting support.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience with accounting software (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for vendor and internal interactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
  • High school diploma required; additional accounting coursework is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid schedule: 2-3 days in-office, remainder remote.
  • Contract length: initial 6 months with potential to convert to full-time based on performance.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $27-$31/hour, depending on experience
  • Alternatively, $50,000-$56,000/year (pro-rated for contract period)
