Special Education Teacher (Multiple Openings) – 2026–2027 School Year
Location: Newport School District SAU 43 – Newport, NH
School Year: August 2026 – June 2027
Position Overview:
Newport School District SAU 43 is seeking 2–3 Special Education Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year. These roles will include both instructional responsibilities and case management. Most openings are expected at the high school level, with a potential need at the elementary or preschool level as well.
Key Details:
- Openings: 2–3 positions
- Schedule: Full-time, 32.5–37.5 hours per week
- School Year: August 2026 – June 2027
- Settings:
- Primarily high school (2 positions anticipated)
- Possible elementary or preschool placement (1 position, TBD)
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Serve as case manager, including development and oversight of IEPs
- Monitor student progress and maintain compliance documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education teaching certification (New Hampshire or eligible)
- Required: Prior school-based experience
- Strong organizational and case management skills
- Ability to adapt across grade levels if needed
