Responsibilities/The Role
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) team, as they grow tennis to inspire healthier people and communities everywhere through a mix of data projects, event management and employee branding efforts. The intern will assist with various DEI assignments while gaining valuable experience in strategic and creative aspects of this work within a sports organization in addition to expanding professional development.
- Support the DEI team by offering your skills in research, event planning, and communication strategies for special projects, including grants, scholarships, essay contest & leadership camp.
- Contribute to the development and execution of DEI-themed social media campaigns by creating posts, graphics, and other digital content.
- Produce, manage and track engaging content for USTA Southern and internal communications platforms, focusing on DEI topics such as cultural observances.
- Partner with teams across different departments to align DEI initiatives with the organizations mission and goals, including the Southern Tennis Foundation.
Who You Are
- Academics: Rising Junior/Senior in college or recent college graduate (All majors welcome!)
- Intellectually curious: You are interested in understanding the connection points between employee experience + nonprofits + sports + marketing + diversity
- A natural learner: You like to learn on the go and offer your thoughts, perspectives, and insights
- Effective communicator: You exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Available: You are available Monday-Friday; 29 hours per week at the USTA Southern office (Peachtree Corners, Ga.)

USTA Southern, located in Peachtree Corners, Ga., is a nonprofit volunteer organization with over 171,000 individual members and a committee structure of over 200 volunteers. Founded in 1886, USTA Southern is the largest of the 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association, the governing body of tennis in America. Our organization covers tennis enthusiasts living across nine states in the South: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, and account for more than 26 percent of the total USTA membership.
