The Inventory Control & Value-Added Services (VAS) Lead will be responsible for maintaining the highest levels of inventory integrity while overseeing the execution of specialized, revenue-generating warehouse services.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Inventory Control:

  • Gather and analyze data concerning the reconciliation of physical inventory, cycle counts, and shipping errors.
  • Conduct physical inventories, cycle counts, and investigations
  • Investigate customer claims of overages/shortages
  • Review stock availability
  • Prioritize projects based on dates needed by
  • Update status reports
  • Manage schedules
  • Monitor emails/communicate with customers.
  • Print labels
  • Work closely with Customer Service Representatives
  • Run weekly/monthly hold damage reports and reconcile.
  • Coordinate and control all hold product notifications, recalls, and mock recalls with Customer Service Manager.
  • Conduct inbound, outbound, and internal audits to ensure inventory compliance

Value Added Services (VAS):

  • Support operations with over, short, and damages (OS&D) to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Manage and oversee labor needs for VAS projects to ensure all projects are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Conduct daily, monthly, and quarterly regulatory auditing as needed to ensure compliance with food quality standards.
  • Understand billing requirements and produce invoices related to inventory control/VAS projects.

Safety, Sanitation, Security:

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse security and sanitation.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes professionalism and safety and is in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
  • Protect proprietary company information, such as rates, contracts, documents, etc.

EQUIPMENT USED

Can operate, train, and coach others on all equipment used in their area of responsibility to include order pickers, forklifts, and electronic pallet jacks.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Experience (minimum level of direct experience in a similar position):
    • 1 year experience in inventory control/stock accounting in a warehouse/distribution environment required.
    • 1 year Experience leading a team of 3-5 direct reports.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Previous (WMS) Synapse experience strongly preferred.
  • Radio Frequency (RF) or related experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, prioritization and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is required.
  • Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to handle stress, fast paced, high volume environment. Must be able to shift priorities easily.
  • Special Requirements: Must have excellent work habits and pass any pre-employment tests, drug test and background check.

  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move office and warehouse supplies, receivable items, shipments and equipment and files ranging anywhere from 5 – 50 lbs over an 8 hour shift.
  • Fine hand manipulation – typing, writing, may assist with packaging of items
  • Must be able to place outbound calls and answer phones, talk/speak and listen coherently
  • Must be physically able to open filing cabinets and bend, stand, balance, stoop or twist as necessary.
  • Vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Ability to walk around the warehouse to gather information (frequent walking)
  • Must be able to stand and sit for 8 hours
  • Must not have a fear of heights – required operate as heights up to 35 ft.
  • Travel – must be able to operate his/her own vehicle to travel to other locations if needed

Work Environment: Must be able to work in different warehouse temperatures (40 – 110 degrees F). Exposed to forklift, clamp truck, pallet jacket, tractor trailer engines, noises, beeps and sounds.
