Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Educate and support students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher in a K-12 urban school setting in Antioch, TN. This full-time contract position runs from the start of the school year through its conclusion, Monday through Friday, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact with children from urban backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with IEPs for students in grades K-12
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and specialists, to address student needs
- Implement evidence-based strategies to support students with autism and other special education requirements
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods accordingly
- Communicate regularly with families and educational staff to foster a supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee teaching license or eligibility for licensure
- Experience working with students in special education settings, particularly with an autism focus preferred
- Strong understanding of K-12 curriculum and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to engage and motivate students from urban backgrounds
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
