Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RT)
Location: York, ME

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
Shift Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Holiday Requirement: No
On-Call: No
Overtime: After 40 Hours per Week
We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a night shift travel assignment in York, Maine. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled respiratory therapist with strong ICU and acute care experience who can provide advanced respiratory care in a high-acuity hospital environment.
The RT will work closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support critically ill patients requiring respiratory interventions and ventilator management.
Responsibilities

Evaluate and provide respiratory therapy treatments according to physician orders

Monitor and manage ventilators and complex life-support systems

Perform advanced respiratory procedures including pressure and volume-controlled ventilation

Assess patient respiratory status and respond to changes in condition

Participate in emergency response and cardiac arrest/code blue teams

Administer respiratory medications and therapies

Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments and care plans

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Ensure compliance with hospital safety and infection control policies
Requirements

Active Maine Respiratory Care Practitioner License required

Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required

ICU experience required

Current BLS Certification required

Current ACLS Certification required

Current NRP Certification required

Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills

Previous travel assignment experience preferred

Experience in acute care hospital environments preferred

RRT or CRT credential preferred
