Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Location: York, ME

Job Type: Contract Travel Assignment
Duration: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
Shift Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Holiday Requirement: No
On-Call: No
Overtime: After 40 Hours per Week

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a night shift travel assignment in York, Maine. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled respiratory therapist with strong ICU and acute care experience who can provide advanced respiratory care in a high-acuity hospital environment.

The RT will work closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support critically ill patients requiring respiratory interventions and ventilator management.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide respiratory therapy treatments according to physician orders

  • Monitor and manage ventilators and complex life-support systems

  • Perform advanced respiratory procedures including pressure and volume-controlled ventilation

  • Assess patient respiratory status and respond to changes in condition

  • Participate in emergency response and cardiac arrest/code blue teams

  • Administer respiratory medications and therapies

  • Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments and care plans

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Ensure compliance with hospital safety and infection control policies

Requirements

  • Active Maine Respiratory Care Practitioner License required

  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required

  • ICU experience required

  • Current BLS Certification required

  • Current ACLS Certification required

  • Current NRP Certification required

  • Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills

  • Previous travel assignment experience preferred

  • Experience in acute care hospital environments preferred

  • RRT or CRT credential preferred
