SUMMARY
We are currently looking to fill an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist to further elevate our Los Angeles division based in Corona and South El Monte, CA. The EHS Specialist will contribute by helping with making improvements in our EHS initiatives and ensures EHS regulatory compliance throughout the division. This new role will help to shape the future of the organization as we relentlessly seek to protect our employees and the environment. The ideal candidate will inspire trust across the organization through the standardization of comprehensive programs that effectively communicate how our teams ensure the highest levels of safety and environmental standards.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, implement, execute and maintain all EHS programs, procedures, processes and systems to ensure EHS compliance across division
- Provide EHS solutions, programs, best practices and guidance to functional and operational teams, site operations management to effectively manage compliance assurance and EHS risk mitigation.
- Be a resource for employees regarding EHS related concerns, providing guidance and recommendations for safety work practices
- Establish universal EHS training programs that support the needs at all levels
- Standardize inspection programs focused on eliminating safety, health, and environmental risk
- Develop and maintain EHS data retention procedures across the organization.
- Lead response and investigation of division incidents, accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Oversee hazardous waste management programs.
- Support all external EHS audits and assessments.
- Oversee third party EHS reporting requirements – generating reports and documentation as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLSET
- Extensive knowledge of environmental safety regulations and policies in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of CNC, Lathes, Saw operator, Fabrication, and machining safety procedures
- knowledge in storm water, hazardous waste (CUPA audit system) (California Environmental Reporting Systems: CERS)
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations
- Proven track record of implementing safety programs
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or related field required.
- 3+ years of related experience preferred
- Bilingual with ability to speak Spanish or Vietnamese is strongly desired.
