Overview
Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineers are part of Ford Motor Company’s North American Engineering organization and are co-located within the Vehicle Assembly Plant (VAP). This role is embedded with the vehicle production team and supports the first line of defense for diagnosing functional system quality issues related to vehicles produced at the assembly plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve quality issues related to vehicle components shipped to assembly plants
- Support vehicle assembly plant processes and integrate Root Cause, 8D, and other quality tools
- Participate in warranty analysis, review customer and dealer complaints, and manage claim data
- Work with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supplier teams to address production and warranty concerns
- Drive customer-focused improvements and ensure understanding of customer feedback
- Review and approve return parts for root cause investigation
- Support current production vehicle launches and ongoing quality initiatives
- Lead or support problem resolution efforts including audits, campaigns, stop/ship builds, and corrective actions
- Maintain subsystem and vehicle functional group quality documentation
- Present quality status, issues, and resolutions to leadership (weekly VRT reports, vehicle quality reviews)
Compensation: $35/hour
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
