Job DescriptionRN - Cardiac Medical Intermediate Overview:

This role focuses on delivering specialized nursing care to patients in the cardiac medical intermediate unit. The nurse will coordinate care with various departments while ensuring accountability in their professional practice. Responsibilities include safeguarding patient confidentiality, assessing the effectiveness of care, and maintaining necessary certifications such as Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. The position requires physical endurance due to the demands of standing for extended periods and lifting, all within a supportive healthcare setting that offers comprehensive benefits.

The nursing process will be utilized to deliver patient care effectively. The nurse will uphold professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients and assess the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care will be done in collaboration with other departments, while ensuring the rights and confidentiality of patients are respected. Responsibilities will be carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.

Position Details:Qualifications:

  • Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, adhering to all state board of nursing regulations.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in nursing is preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
    • Additional certifications may be required based on the specific unit or position, including but not limited to:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
      • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
      • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
      • CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
      • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
      • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
      • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
      • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
      • Other unit-specific certifications as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • The role necessitates the ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking are required throughout each shift.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat is essential for performing job duties.
