**Job Overview:
**
Ensure that the chemicals products produced or resold conform to the specification and meet or exceed customer quality expectations. Work with production to ensure products come out right the first time and post process adjustments are minimized. Assist in the development of new products based on customer demand.
**Reports to

**Tom Sheppard, Area Manager-West Coast Region
**Roles and responsibilities
**

Comply with Company policies and occupational health and safety prevention.

Perform Quality Control testing on chemical production batches and ensure that in coming raw materials and products are on specification.

Trouble shoots all off spec batches and develops a solution to get the product in specification.

Responsible for keeping records of all testing performed and preparation of COA for all products requiring them.

Responsible for ensuring testing equipment is calibrated yearly at a minimum and is in good working order.

Assist in Product Development for new chemical formulas including product blends and reaction-based chemistries.

Works with Regulatory to respond to customer driven inquiries.

Prepare customer product samples.
-
Keep the lab and its work surfaces clean and a safe place to work.

Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor or management.

Create work orders.
-
Close work orders
-
Corrections to failed batches.
-
Enter and transfer formulas to SAGE.
-
Create product codes and routings in sage.
-
Move products in and out of quality control.
-
Adjust batches based on laboratory testing.
-
Analyze and investigate product complaints and QC returns.
-
Assembly/Disassembly of products in SAGE.
-
Create, correct, and print barcodes.
**Qualifications:
**
-
Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related field.
-
2+ years of experience in a chemical laboratory setting.
-
Quality control experience in a Chemical manufacturing environment.
-
Knowledge of chemical laboratory techniques and instrumentation: FTIR, Titrator, pH meters.

Formulating experience for HI&I and Personal Care products an asset

Computer literate in an ERP environment

Good organizational, analytical and trouble shooting skills.

Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Strong attention to details and ability to maintain accurate and complex records.

Excellent communications and teamwork skills.
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
-
Flexibility to work occasionally on weekends as needed.
**Physical requirements:

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, lab coat, and gloves.
