What does a Creative Director, Art do at WPP Production?
This Freelance Creative Director leads the visual creative vision for a campaign from concept through final delivery. In this role, you'll partner closely with a Copy lead to shape the creative, guide the team and vendors, and ensure every asset meets premium, TVC-level craft. You'll collaborate directly with a high-profile consulting/technology client to bring an aspirational story to life-balancing human and AI-driven capabilities-across a flagship digital experience and social cutdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end visual direction for a suite of premium films/videos, from kickoff through launch
- Partner with a Copy lead to develop and refine concepts, scripts, storyboards, and creative treatments
- Lead client presentations and working sessions; incorporate feedback while protecting the creative integrity and production quality
- Direct production: oversee shot lists, casting/talent considerations, locations, wardrobe/props, and overall on-set creative direction
- Creative direct post-production, including edit, color, sound, VFX, and motion; ensure final work achieves TVC-quality standards
- Creative development and guidance of supporting visual elements, including light UI/interface representations of an AI tool, in collaboration with a motion designer
- Ensure consistency of look, feel, and narrative across the hero videos and social cutdowns
- Manage timelines and creative workflows in partnership with producers and project leads to hit key milestones
- Develop compelling visual narratives that consistently reinforce brand identity and guidelines
- Engage directly with clients on strategic initiatives to define and articulate key narratives
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Creative Director and/or Art Director leading TVC-quality film/video work (concept through delivery)
- Strong visual craft with a premium, aspirational sensibility and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, human-centered stories
- Hands-on experience directing shoots (on set) and leading post-production through final delivery
- Comfort partnering with a senior Copy lead and working as a tight concepting team
- Experience creating multi-format video deliverables (hero films plus social cutdowns/variations)
- Ability to work directly with a sophisticated enterprise client and confidently lead creative conversations and presentations
- Bonus: familiarity with UI/interface design principles and/or directing motion design involving product UI elements
- Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematic storytelling, high production value, and end-to-end leadership
- Availability to be fully dedicated to the project through launch
- Experience developing and executing B2B corporate video content
The pay rate for this position at the time of this posting may range from $48 to $100 an hour. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
