Personal Care:
Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Mobility Support:
Helping clients move around, including transfers between bed, wheelchair, and other areas.
Meal Preparation and Feeding:
Assisting with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
Vital Sign Monitoring:
Checking and recording vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
Medication Reminders:
Assisting with medication reminders, following prescribed schedules.
Communication:
Communicating with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare providers regarding changes in the client's condition.
Documentation:
Keeping detailed records of services provided, client condition, and progress.
Household Tasks:
Performing light housekeeping tasks as needed, such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
Emotional Support:
Providing companionship and emotional support to clients and their families.
Incident Reporting:
Reporting any unusual incidents, falls, or changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
To be successful in this role, CNAs should possess:
Certification: CNA certification from a state-approved program.
Experience: Prior experience working in healthcare, particularly in home health, is beneficial.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
Compassion and Empathy: Compassion, empathy, and patience in caring for clients with diverse needs.
Adaptability: The ability to adapt to various home environments and client needs.
Physical Stamina: Physical stamina to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks.
