Clinical Orthodontic Assistant with Chairside and Records Training Opportunity


A local Cedar Rapids orthodontics office is seeking aFull-Time Clinical Orthodontic Assistantwho is passionate about helping people and thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. This role primarily focuses onchairside assisting, with the opportunity to grow inorthodontic records training.


We are looking for a candidate who istechnically skilled, detail-oriented, dependable, and excels in customer service. You must be efficient, a great communicator, and enjoy working with both patients and team members.


Key Responsibilities:

Chairside Assisting (Primary Focus):

  • Provide excellent patient care during orthodontic procedures.
  • Support the clinical team in delivering a high standard of care.
  • Schedule and manage appointments efficiently.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients, parents, and the team.
  • Assist with sterilization protocols and maintain a clean clinical environment.
  • Adapt to schedule and location changes with a positive attitude.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Records Technician (Additional Training Provided):

  • Take orthodontic records, including photos, digital scans for 3D models, and impressions.
  • Capture panoramic, cephalometric, and periapical X-rays with confidence.
  • Manage time effectively to complete records promptly.
  • Follow sterilization and infection control procedures.

  • ARegistered Dental Assistant (RDA)or experienced dental professional.

  • Technically proficient and quick to learn new skills.
  • Friendly and professional, with excellent communication abilities.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and efficient in a busy environment.

Skills/Experience:

  • Registered Dental Assistant

Compensation and Hours:

  • This position is for 27-35 hours a week
  • 3-4 day work week (no nights or weekends)
