Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support advanced cardiac and vascular care as a Cath Lab Technologist in a dynamic catheterization laboratory environment. This contract role, located in Hampton, VA, involves assisting cardiologists and vascular physicians with catheter-based diagnostic and interventional procedures, including complex interventions such as TAVR, PFO closures, Watchman implants, atherectomy therapies, and electrophysiology studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including catheterization, balloon angioplasty, stenting, and electrophysiology studies.
- Prepare and calibrate sophisticated lab equipment such as balloon pumps, Impella devices, IVUS, iFR/FFR, CSI, RotaPro, laser technologies, and advanced imaging systems.
- Monitor patient vitals, interpret ECG data, recognize abnormalities, and calculate appropriate drug dosages during procedures.
- Maintain a safe, sterile, and organized catheterization lab environment while managing inventory supplies and supporting procedural billing accuracy.
- Provide compassionate care to patients ranging from adolescents to geriatric populations, addressing their concerns with professionalism and interpersonal skills.
- Participate in a flexible call rotation schedule, including at least 14 days of call per month with weekend shifts as needed.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RCIS certification is required.
- Vocational/Technical degree in Radiology Tech or accredited Electrophysiology program; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to assess patient condition, monitor multiple data sources, and assist in treatment plans.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining complex electrical and diagnostic equipment in cardiac and hybrid lab settings.
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Ability to work under high-pressure, fast-paced environments with excellent mechanical aptitude and teamwork.
- Willingness to work Monday through Friday with call responsibilities; no Dysrhythmia exam required.
