- Contract Duration: 12 months
- Worksite Location: Maplewood, MN | Hybrid
- Compensation: $25.00 - $29.50 per hour
What you’ll do as the Procurement Category Specialist:
- Provide category support for Converting & Pack Out Services across 3rd party manufacturing and hard goods
- Support supplier consolidation initiatives to achieve cost savings and working capital goals
- Drive cost reduction efforts by implementing innovative procurement best practices
- Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and external supplier relationship management
- Oversee effective new product introduction launches and manage complex supplier relationships
- Identify, lead, and implement solutions for dual-sourcing, negotiation, category strategy, and supplier management
- Determine and lead process improvement opportunities that enhance service, speed, or cost through data and metric analysis
- Negotiate and implement agreements for complex supply relationships, including vendor-managed inventory, consigned materials, and formula-based pricing
What you’ll bring to the Procurement Category Specialist role: 5+ years of procurement experience, including contract manufacturing
- Strong negotiation and contracting skills
- Proven stakeholder and supplier management experience
- Experience with direct materials, GFR, converting, assembly, or kitting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on complex projects
- Strong project management abilities and initiative as a self-starter
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Financial acumen and experience conducting business analytics
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Fluency in English, with Spanish or Portuguese as a plus
- Experience in manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and managing large datasets
- Familiarity with SAP navigation and usage
