Position: Mechanical Engineer Industrial HVAC
Location: Akron, Ohio (Hybrid minimum 3 days/week on-site)
Work Type: Hybrid (On-site collaboration required; no remote option)
Experience Required: 5+ years (Industrial HVAC experience strongly preferred)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in industrial HVAC systems to support complex engineering projects across chemical, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading HVAC design efforts, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and execute HVAC engineering and design for industrial facilities
- Develop system layouts, perform load calculations, and size/select equipment
- Design process ventilation and pressurization systems for hazardous/classified environments
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Conduct field investigations, site verifications, and as-built validations
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and clients
- Support project planning through cost estimation and design development across project phases
Preferred Additional Expertise
- Dust collection and control system design (including combustible dust applications)
- Plumbing systems design (potable water, wastewater, stormwater, and process systems)
- Fire protection system evaluation and coverage planning
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE preferred or in progress
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit and Navisworks is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Willingness to work in a hybrid on-site environment and travel as needed
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
