Job Description
We are looking for a Controls Engineer with a strong background in PLC and HMI programming, particularly within the food and dairy processing industries.
Key Qualifications & Responsibilities:
- Hands-on experience in food and/or dairy processing is essential. This includes working with systems like CIP (Clean-in-Place), batch transfers, thermal processing using steam or glycol with heat exchangers, and HTST (pasteurization) systems.
- Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix 5000, with proven experience writing and modifying PLC code.
- Skilled in developing HMI applications using Ignition (Inductive Automation), FactoryTalk View (Rockwell), Wonderware, or PlantPAx—any of these platforms will be beneficial.
- Must be open to travel approximately 30% of the year, typically concentrated into 10–11 day startup and service trips during Q3 and Q4.
- Ability to create and interpret electrical control schematics using AutoCAD is a must.
- Comfortable reading and working from technical manuals and wiring diagrams for instrumentation such as flowmeters, pressure and level transmitters, etc.
- Solid foundation in Rockwell Automation platforms with a deep understanding of how to integrate PLC and HMI systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required for electrical design and panel layouts.
- Candidates should either hold a technical diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Technology or possess direct experience in PLC/HMI programming and on-site commissioning.
