General Summary

Responsible for the conceptualization, pre-production, production, and post-production of field recording packages for the show Viva La Tarde and/or other Wapa TV segments, ensuring editorial, technical, and operational standards are met.

Essential Responsibilities, Duties, and Tasks

The primary duty of the person in this role consists of performing the following tasks in accordance with Company policies, guidelines, and procedures:


  • Record and produce field recording packages.
  • Conceptualize the full storyline for different field segments.
  • Assist in researching and developing field content.
  • Organize, coordinate, and execute the pre-production and post-production of field recordings.
  • Serve as a liaison between the show and the individuals, guests, and locations where recordings will take place.
  • Gather and deliver necessary information to the editing producer regarding guests, locations, and recorded content.
  • Work together with the editing producer on the material according to the vision for each segment.
  • Prepare and organize recorded material in Media Central, ensuring it is properly identified and ready for daily editing.
  • Work on and submit Music Cue Sheets to the corresponding legal department.
  • Manage and control the inventory of prizes assigned to field segments, including verifying expiration dates.
  • Coordinate the technical logistics of recordings in compliance with labor regulations, including supervising hours worked to avoid overtime penalties.
  • Collect complementary material (photos, videos, and information) for the show and its segments.
  • Travel to different locations to conduct field recordings.
  • Support other production team functions when necessary.
  • Perform any other task required by the supervisor for the proper functioning of the show and department.

Job Requirements

To successfully perform this position, the person must be able to complete each task satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of editing.
  • Experience with Avid, Avid Media Central, and Media Composer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Creative ability.
  • Logical and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Availability for variable schedules based on production needs.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential tasks of the position.

The role requires approximately 50% of the time in the office and 50% in the field, including frequent travel to different locations, work in variable environments, and exposure to weather conditions depending on the nature of the recording. It may require extended or adjusted schedules based on production needs.
