Location: Fayetteville, NC
Employment Type: Temporary (Variable Shifts)
Hourly Rate: $21.00/hr

Position Overview:
The Medication Technician (Med Tech) is responsible for safely administering medications to juveniles in custody under nursing supervision. This critical role ensures accurate medication delivery while maintaining full compliance with facility policies and state regulations. (Note: Role limited to outpatient settings only.)

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Licensure:
- Current NAI & NAII listings (North Carolina Board of Nursing and Division of Facility Services registries)
- CPR Certification (Healthcare Provider)
- Completed NC DAC Medication Technician training
- Experience: 1+ year as CNA/Med Tech preferred
- Technical Skills:
- Medication administration protocols
- Completion of HERO (Health Care Electronic Records for Offenders) training, including eMAR documentation
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- Soft Skills:
- Detail-oriented documentation
- Strong communication
- Crisis management
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications to residents, verifying the correct person, drug, dosage, route, and time.
- Document all medication administration in the electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR).
- Monitor and report any adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising licensed nurse.
- Provide support to the Medical Records Assistant as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of medical information.
- Perform regular patient check-ups and assist with activities of daily living as required.
- Ensure medication carts are restocked and maintained per facility protocol.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare staff
