Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in South Carolina is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers for high school Employability Classes serving grades 9 through 12. These full-time positions offer the opportunity to work closely with students to support their academic and social development within a compliant and structured special education framework.
Location: Greenville, SC
School Level: High School
Contract Duration: Current School Year, through May 22, 2025
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students unique learning needs in Employability Classes
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and IEP goals
- Supervise students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Enter grades and maintain accurate records of student progress
- Manage compliance tasks, including writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and conducting IEP meetings
- Collaborate with classroom aides and utilize planning periods effectively for preparation and student support
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Educator Certification with Multi-Categorical or Intellectual Disabilities (ID) endorsement or specialty
- Experience in special education at the high school level preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and special education laws
- Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs
