Program Director
- Balanced Martial Arts Eastchester, NY
About Balanced Martial Arts
Balanced Martial Arts is a growing school in Eastchester that runs on systems, measures what we do, and invests in our team. We're hiring a leader, not a chair-filler.
About the Role
The Program Director serves as the face of our front office and the operational backbone of the school. If you love building relationships, closing enrollments, solving operational puzzles, and developing people, this role is designed for you. We're looking for someone who leads by example, holds themselves and others to a high bar, and takes pride in being a steward of our culture.
Career Path: This seat is the natural feeder into a Location Manager role as we grow with broader influence over operations, team development, and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation
Drive new lead generation through referral campaigns, community partnerships, and grassroots outreach
Represent BMA at community events, school partnerships, and booth opportunities
Enrollment Conversion
Handle inbound inquiries (calls, texts, web leads) and convert them into trial students
Conduct new-student orientations, educating families on our program, values, and process
Student Growth
Identify families ready for advanced programs based on engagement and goals
Student & Family Retention
Serve as the primary off-the-mat liaison for parents through scheduled check-ins and ongoing relationship building
Gather family feedback and relay it to the instructional team
Financial & Operational Health
Monitor and follow up on delinquent accounts; collect in-school payments
Process daily retail sales; track inventory and reorder routine items
Facility & Presentation
Walk the school daily to ensure all spaces are presentation-ready for families
Handle light day-to-day cleaning and address small facility issues as they come up
Team Leadership
Supervise and schedule school staff
Communicate parent and student feedback clearly to the instructional team
Social Media & Brand
Post 12 times weekly on Instagram and Facebook
Help maintain a consistent brand voice across parent-facing communications
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
2+ years of experience in sales, customer service, operations, or a client-facing role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills especially with parents and kids
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning systems and metrics
Comfortable with technology
Reliable, accountable, and coachable
Must pass a background check (we work with minors)
Nice-to-Haves
Prior management or supervisory experience
Martial arts background or personal training experience
Sales or closing experience
Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools
Compensation
Base salary: $70,000 $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
In addition to base pay, we offer bonuses tied to new student enrollments and program upgrades (Black Belt Club & Leadership Team).
Successful team members typically earn total compensation of $90,000 $110,000+ when targets are met or exceeded.
Schedule
Our business operates when students and families are available, so evenings and weekends are part of the role. We prioritize a consistent 5-day work week with predictable hours, rather than split or constantly changing schedules. Evenings and one weekend day are a regular part of the role, as these are our highest-impact times for enrollment, student development, and family communication. Schedules are set in advance and remain stable.
