Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Dentist to join a mission-driven community health organization serving underserved and diverse patient populations. The ideal candidate has experience working in FQHC or community health outpatient clinic settings, is comfortable managing a steady patient volume, and is passionate about improving access to high-quality healthcare.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Examines individuals requesting care, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines

Educates individuals in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention

Communicate with dental staff on our team regarding patient treatment plans

Supervises the clinical work of the dental assistants and hygienists
Qualifications & Experience:

Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental school (DDS or DMD).

Licensed to practice dentistry in the State of California.

Board certified in an appropriate specialty.

Current, valid, and unrestricted California Dental Board license.

Completion of all California Dental Board examination requirements (e.g., WREB/ADEX or equivalent).

DEA registration with X-waiver (required)

Current CPR/BLS certification required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with underserved, low-income, or homeless populations preferred.

Experience in community health clinics, FQHCs, public health, or safety-net settings strongly preferred.
Important Note: Patient Volume & Workflow Expectations

Average of 3 patients per hour (20-minute visits)
-
Includes two telehealth visits per day

Dedicated administrative time at the end of each day
-
Chart completion required within 72 hours

Ability to efficiently manage the in-basket, including patient messages, refills, and lab results

EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
